Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join You First if I have health insurance?

Yes! You can use You First services as long as you meet the other eligibility requirements.

You First is not able to pay for screening services for members with Medicare Part B. Members ages 35-64 are eligible to participate in the health coaching program.

Your other insurance will be billed first. You First may be able to cover deductibles and copays that other insurance doesn't cover.

Once I've joined You First, what happens next?

Here's what to expect after your application is accepted and you become a member:

  1. You’ll get a You First membership card and information packet in the mail.
  2. A You First team member will call or email to welcome you to the program and answer any questions you may have.
  3. You can then call your regular doctor or health care provider to schedule your You First health screenings. A member from our team can also help you set up your appointments.
  4. If you have a bill for a service You First pays for, you can submit it to us for payment—even if your visit was up to 90 days before you became a member.
Where do I go for my appointment?

You can go to your regular doctor or nurse for your appointment. If you need help finding a provider that accepts You First, give us a call at 800-508-2222 (TTY: 711) or use this provider look-up tool to help you find one.

What if I don't have a doctor?

How often should I have a heart health screening?

Members ages 35-64 are encouraged to have a heart health screening each year, which can be paid for by You First. Should I get the HPV vaccine?

This vaccine protects against the Human papillomavirus (HPV) strains that can cause cervical cancer and other cancers. The HPV vaccines are routinely recommended for 11 and 12-year-olds, and are also recommended for 13 to 26-year-olds who did not get the vaccines when they were younger. People up to age 45 can now get the HPV vaccine. Talk about your vaccine options with your doctor or nurse. People who have been vaccinated against HPV and have a cervix should still have regular Pap tests.

What if I can't afford my cholesterol, blood pressure or diabetes medications?
