Dental Health and Pregnancy | Information on oral health programs for pregnant people in Vermont. |
Help Me Grow | Universal referral online platform providing support and education to parents, caregivers and health care professionals on child development and community supports. Providers can also make a direct referral by completing an online referral form. |
Parent Child Centers | A network of 15 centers that help families get their children off to a healthy start. Services may include early childhood services, home visits to families with young children, playgroups, parent education, parent support, and information and referral. |
Adolescent Sexual Health | Education and resources for teens, parents, educators, and providers promoting adolescent sexual health. |
Office of Local Health | Reach out to your local Maternal and Child Health Coordinator and WIC to connect with resources in your community. |
WIC | WIC is a nutrition program for pregnant and new parents and families with children under 5 – nutrition education, healthy foods, breastfeeding support, and referrals. Make a WIC online referral. |
Strong Families VT
Vermont has free nursing and social services for eligible pregnant and parenting families in every region to support family health and child development.

Strong Families Vermont Nurse Home Visiting Program (MECSH) | Information about Vermont’s home visiting program, developed from Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home Visiting Program Home-Visiting (MECSH) model. The program is offered statewide and referrals to Strong Families VT are made through the CIS regional coordinator or the regional Home Health Agency. Parents as Teachers (PAT) | Home visiting program that promotes early development, learning, and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers. Referrals to PAT are made through the CIS regional coordinator. |
Children’s Integrated Services (CIS) | Early intervention, family support, and prevention services to help ensure the healthy development and wellbeing of children, pre-birth to age 5. |
Head Start and Early Head Start (HS and EHS) | Head Start (HS) programs operate locally to help young children from low-income families prepare to succeed in school, promoting children’s development through early learning, health, and family well-being.
