Public Health Data Explorer

Healthy Vermonters 2020 captures priority health outcomes and indicators for the decade. The Quick Reference for Chittenden County gives a look at the indicators and progress toward our goals.

Health Data Across All Ages

The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS) and Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) look at health indicators across the age spectrum. Vermont tracks adult health-related risk behaviors, chronic health conditions, and use of preventive services using the BRFSS. YRBS monitors health risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disease, injury and social problems among youth.

500 Cities project

Burlington is one of 500 cities across the U.S. to be part of the 500 Cities Project, a joint effort between CDC, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the CDC Foundation. The project provides interactive city- and census track-level data to help communities see a fuller picture of how they fare on chronic disease measures such as smoking, obesity, mammogram and cholesterol screening rates and other factors that impact health.
