State and national resources provide online learning opportunities for people working in the substance use field. Whether you are just starting out or have been in this field for many years, there is always more to learn!

Range of topics include: 

  • Clinical techniques like motivational interviewing, contingency management, SBIRT, MOUD;
  • Foundational education like ethics, co-occurring disorders, poly-substance use, pain management, peer recovery, social determinants of health, pharmacology, early childhood development, toxic stress and adverse childhood experiences; and
  • Population-specific competencies like addressing stigma, addressing racial bias, multicultural counseling, LGBTQ+ care, and adolescent, young adult and older adult substance use.

For trainings that indicate Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available, contact your licensing or certification organization to verify that the credits will count toward the continuing education requirements.
