Summary of 2025 All Drug Overdose Deaths and Emergency Department Visits

  • As of the end of November, the number of accidental and undetermined overdose deaths is lower than the previous three-year average (2022-2024 November).
  • As of the end of November, emergency department visit rates for overdoses are lower than the previous three-year average (2022-2024 November).

  • So far in 2025, Chittenden and Windham Counties have a statistically higher rate of emergency department visits for overdoses compared to the rest of Vermont.

     

We have an 8-week lag in reporting most overdose data. This minimizes changes to the posted numbers.

About the Dashboard

The Overdose Dashboard now includes all drug overdose data. Data includes:

  • Monthly fatality rates with past three-year comparison
  • Emergency department visits for non-fatal overdoses
  • Data segmented by race, age and sex
  • Various data notes

The dashboard is updated monthly around the second Wednesday.
